Brookings, Or. to Crescent City, Ca.

Fri. - Nov. 6th

Moving on, our first stop was at the California border for agriculture inspection. They asked if we had any fresh fruits or vegetables or any wood or plants with us. They also asked us if we were from the Mt. Rushmore area of South Dakota. If we had been, they would have had to search the RV for gypsy moth infestation. Just past the inspection station was the First Chance Liquor Store. We didn't feel the need to stop. After a half hour on the road we pulled into our next camp site at Crescent City.
We set up camp and headed for Jedediah Smith Redwood State Park. We hiked the Simpson-Reed Memorial Trail and the River Trail to the Stout Grove. I thought I was in Jurassic Park. I expected a brontosaurus or a t-rex to come rumbling toward us at any minute.
After our loop thru the redwoods, we came back to
Crescent City to check out the town and the beach.
Pictures are of Barrier Point Light House. Then we went back to camp for supper and TV and listening to the rain again.
High surf warnings and more rain tomorrow with a high of 45 degrees.

More hiking in the redwoods
tomorrow, but we discovered a casino in town, so I'm sure we
will be able to keep up our strength.

Good Night All,
Tarra
